When Jane contacted me to inquire if I was available to photograph her Islington Wedding I was intrigued when she told me that there would be fourteen people there including herself and James, and that James’s son Harry would be the Bestman at the tender age of ten!
I arrived at the Islington Hilton Hotel to find Jane and her mum Linda preparing for the big day whilst enjoying a glass of champagne, what a great start to a wedding day. From The Hilton we made our way to Islington Town Hall for the wedding ceremony. James looked very calm and collected but when I asked him how he felt he confessed that he was very very nervous. Once the ceremony started in Room 99 of Islington Town Hall James was great, all the earlier nerves were gone.
Following the ceremony we moved on to Fredrick’s Restaurant in Camden Passage Islington for the reception, the highlight of this was Harry’s speech, I have heard many Bestman’s speeches but I can honestly say this was one of the best one’s I have heard, it was witty and full of love for his newly married parents and written all by himself, and bearing in mind his age it was pretty amazing.
Here is a selection of my favourite photographs from Jane and James’s Islington Wedding.
Islington Town Hall has a number of rooms of different sizes which are used for weddings, including the rather grand Council Chamber. If you’re planning to have your wedding in Islington and you would like a natural style of wedding photography, please get in touch with me to find out whether I’m available for your date, or to request information on prices.
